Dying2Learn earns Palliative Care Award

Palliative care researchers and educators at Flinders’ CareSearch have won an award for Innovation in Palliative Care at the recent annual Australian Palliative Care Conference.

CareSearch’s Dying2Learn MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) was praised by health professionals, patients, carers and their families attending the conference for helping them talk more openly about death, dying and palliative care.

CareSearch Director, Professor Jennifer Tieman, and Flinders lecturer, Deb Rawlings, were nominated for the award, which was accepted at the conference by Lauren Miller-Lewis, CareSearch researcher, and Professor Deb Parker, a member of the CareSearch advisory group.

Due to the success of the Dying2Learn MOOC, the team will run the course again in May 2018.
