The dish on family meal time

Flinders researchers from the College of Nursing and Health Sciences are investigating the challenges of cooking and eating together at family meal time and are looking for study participants.

Entitled, “Increasing time for cooking and eating together in families”, the project aims to identify the activities that young families engage in around dinner time, and whether or not these compete with cooking and eating together.

Parents of primary school aged children are invited to participate in a one-hour interview to help gather thoughts and perspectives on dinner time during the school week.

Interviews can be organised at a place and time to best suit participants.

The outcomes of the project will be used to improve understanding of the barriers to, and enablers of, family meal time and to help families spend more time cooking and eating together.

Parents who would like to participate in an interview are invited to phone Kristen Foley on 0423 932 441 or email Kristen.Foley@flinders.edu.au.
