Telehealth explored in an ageing Australia

A one-day symposium on ‘Telehealth for our Ageing Society’ will be held on 24 November to explore best practice models of telehealth and wellness in the digital age for older Australians.

Telehealth is a well-established area in the health technologies and services domain, however its adoption in health settings has been inconsistent.

This is largely due to the lack of exemplars in this area.

The scope of telehealth has now broadened beyond conventional interactive consultations to include new models, settings and technologies.

In addition there is growing interest in addressing the ageing demographic of Australian society and the impact of this on our health systems.

The symposium will include a series of in-depth presentations from prominent international and Australian researchers on a range of topics relevant to telehealth and digitally-enhanced living solutions in the aged care sector.

It will be hosted by the Flinders Digital Health Research Centre at Flinders Victoria Square from 8.30am-5.00pm.
