Work has commenced on the upgrade and refurbishment of rooms 0005 – 0009 in the Physical Sciences Building.

The rooms will be transformed into flexible, collaborative and contemporary learning spaces suitable for a range of lecture and learning styles.

Student and staff engagement was supported by Visual Reality (VR) allowing virtual exploration of the proposed spaces to help inform the design and functionality of the area.

The teachings spaces will offer:

• New technology and audio visual facilities
• Large windows to increase the amount of natural light and enhance the spaces
• Access through to the lake
• Landscaping and new outdoor furniture

The upgrade will result in a modern, bespoke student and staff experience with room for 90 people in the larger area and 30 people in the two smaller areas.

Work has been scheduled for December 2017 – February 2018 to minimise the impact on students and staff.
