Walk the innovation walk for social good

The Chief Executive of Canada’s largest entrepreneurial precinct will share her secrets on 2 May 2018 and demonstrate how to embed social outcomes into 21st century innovation hubs.

Dr Ilse Treurnicht is the latest Thinker in Residence at the Don Dunstan Foundation and leads the MaRS Discovery District in Toronto, a 1.5-million square-foot ‘innovation zone’ that has firmly established the Ontario capital as a world-leading epicentre of entrepreneurship.

MaRS supports innovators and entrepreneurs to build high-impact growth businesses by offering specialised infrastructure and access to critical talent, capital and customer networks.

Dr Treurnicht will draw on her experiences from the MaRS project to discuss how innovators can ‘build the future on purpose’ and adapt the MaRS approach in South Australia for economic growth and community benefit.

A panel and networking drinks session will follow the oration.
