Chamber strings for Lunchtime Concert

This week’s Lunchtime Concert will feature the Elder Conservatorium Student String Quartet performing a selection of solo and group compositions.

Friends Jade Paterson, Paris Williams, Andrew Crothers and Kate Hwang share a passion for chamber music and formed their string quartet in April 2018. The group has received coaching from Keith Crellin and has performed at Flinders Street Baptist Church.

Members

Ms Paterson (violin) is in her final year studying a Bachelor of Classical Performance Advanced and has received a number of prizes and scholarships, the most recent being the Kamala Khurana Scholarship which allowed her to travel with the Australian Youth Orchestra for their 2018 July season.

Ms Williams (violin) is studying a Bachelor of Music in Classical Performance. In 2016 and 2017 she was Concertmaster of the Adelaide Youth Orchestra and first violinist of the orchestra’s String Quartet. In 2018 she participated in the Australian Youth Orchestra National Music Camp.

Mr Crothers (viola) is studying a Bachelor of Classical Performance. He has played in the Australian Youth Orchestra’s programs and has been awarded a number of scholarships, the most recent being the Varley Scholarship.

Ms Hwang (cello) is studying a Bachelor of Music in Classical Performance. Over the past few years, she has played in the Adelaide Youth Orchestra and has been accepted into the Australian Youth Orchestra National Music Camp.
