A movie night to be hosted on 28 August by The Nutrition Society of Australia (Adelaide Group) will feature a screening of the movie Food Evolution and panel discussion.
From Academy Award nominee Scott Hamilton Kennedy, Food Evolution explores the controversy surrounding GMO’s (Genetically Modified Organisms) and food.
Neil deGrasse Tyson, the film narrator, says “the film explores all the ways science has been used and abused in public discourse surrounding the genetic engineering of food. In a world of misinformation and disinformation, nothing can be more timely.”
The event will begin with networking drinks and nibbles, follow with the film screening at 6pm, and conclude with a panel of experts in biotechnology who will discuss the current issues surrounding GMO foods.
