New Vice-President announced

The new Vice-President and Executive Dean of the College of Science and Engineering has been announced, with Professor Alistair Rendell to commence at Flinders University in January 2019.

Professor Rendell brings significant academic leadership experience, teamed with leading research expertise in high-performance computing.

He joins Flinders from a 23-year career with the Australian National University where he has been Director of the Research School of Computer Science in the College of Engineering and Computer Science for the last five years.  In this role he oversaw a near trebling in size of the School, introduced a major re-design of academic programs, and forged major national and international partnerships.

Professor Rendell began his academic journey studying chemistry at Durham University in the UK. He came to Australia as an International Commonwealth Scholar completing a PhD in theoretical chemistry at the University of Sydney.

With an excellent record in both research and attracting industry support, Professor Rendell will be a valuable addition to the University and its College of Science and Engineering.
