Three Flinders University PhD candidates have been awarded grants in the MaP Fund’s Australasian Institute for Maritime Archaeology (AIMA) Conference grants, to help them attend and present their research at the 2018 AIMA/ASHA Conference in Parramatta from 26 to 29 September.

The MaP Fund AIMA Conference grants award up to $2,000 in total for Honours, Graduate or PhD students enrolled at any Australian university who are conducting research for a thesis in maritime archaeology, or a closely related field.

An initiative of Flinders Adjunct Associate Professor Mark Staniforth and his wife Dr Paddy O’Toole, the fund is dedicated to the advancement of maritime and underwater archaeology and the protection and investigation of underwater cultural heritage in the Asia/Pacific region. Its activities can be followed through its dedicated Facebook page.
