Give community organisations a voice

Flinders staff working with the not-for-profit sector can help win a free short documentary or online video advertisement for their cause.

The 2019 Community Voices program, run by Flinders filmmaking students and the SA Government, aims to produce professional quality videos at no charge for charities and volunteer organisations.

Flinders staff are invited to encourage those organisations they work with to get involved.

The program assesses submissions from South Australian volunteer organisations to select ten to work with in the production of an online video ad or short documentary to be produced by students in 2019.

  • The online video ad will be of 30-second duration, designed to help promote, celebrate and recruit volunteers for organisations. It may contain high impact visuals, a storyline, music, and voiceover narration.
  • The short documentary will be a three to five minute video, showcasing the work organisations do and the role of volunteers. It may contain video interviews, footage of volunteers, activities, events, and voice-over narration.

Together with delivering a professional quality advertisement, the five online video ads each come with $2,000 of Facebook and YouTube advertising.

The Community Voices Program provides a unique opportunity for community organisations to partner with Flinders University film-making students to promote, train or recruit volunteers.

Applications close on Friday 26 October 2018, submission details are available here.
