Information session on new child safety laws

New child safety laws will come into effect on 22 October 2018 and The Department for Child Protection is hosting an information session on 15 October to update service providers on changes.

Agencies contracted by the state government to deliver services to children, young people and their families (called ‘State authorities’), will have new responsibilities under the Children and Young People (Safety) Act 2017.

This information session will outline key elements of the new laws and how they impact State authorities. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and hear more about how the laws will operate in practice.

Who should attend?

Any agency that has a contract with a government department to deliver services to children, young people and their families.

Anyone unable to attend the session may request a summary of the information by emailing DCP.Legislation@sa.gov.au.
