Invictus gold glows for Flinders student

Education and health sciences student and elite athlete Emilea Mysko contributed an outstanding performance to the Invictus Games in Sydney, heading home with two gold and two silver medals for her chosen sports of cycling and rowing.

Ms Mysko won her two gold medals for rowing events and both silver medals for cycling (time trial and road race).

Her amazing achievements reflect the important role sport has played for her in living with mental health issues and physical injuries sustained from her work in the Australian Defence Force.

A member of the Royal Australian Navy from 2007 to 2015, Ms Mysko worked on a military ward at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney and was involved in peace keeping missions throughout south-east Asia during her navy career.

The Invictus Games were held in Sydney from 20 to 27 October 2018.
