Vote for a favourite ahead of awards night

The STEM Women Branching Out Cochlear Aurora Photo Contest Awards Ceremony will be held on Thursday 29 November and all staff are invited to attend – and cast their vote for the People’s Choice Award.

Open to South Australian girls in years 8-12, the competition is now in its third year, with high quality entries received from schools as far south as Noarlunga and as far north as Whyalla.

Run by the Flinders STEM Women Branching Out group, the competition aims to expand or maintain young women’s interest in STEM subjects and offers several prizes across two categories, including two first prizes of $500 each, together with the People’s Choice Award.

Finalist’s images have been uploaded to the STEM Women Branching Out Facebook page for the People’s Choice Award, with the most liked image receiving a $100 gift card. Staff are encouraged to visit the page, like their favourite photo – and share for others to enjoy.

The contest, with the theme Science is Everywhere, provides a wonderful opportunity for students to consider science from its most creative lens. The Awards Ceremony attracts a mix of students, teachers, industry partners and Flinders staff members.

Where: Alere Function Centre, level 2 the Hub, Flinders University

When: Thursday 29 November 4:00 – 6:00pm
