Neil Brewer Social Transformation public lecture: Delivering Justice for the Accused

The first in the ‘Social Transformation’ series run by Flinders’ College of Education, Psychology and Social Work and targeted to policy makers and the general public, this lecture will address two key issues in identification of culprit’s from line-ups or photo compilations.

Emeritus Professor Neil Brewer will explain why these identifications methods must be radically transformed if the value of eyewitness evidence is to be increased. He will also present evidence from a large, five-year research program that demonstrates the efficacy of a radical new procedure that is far more informative than the evidence provided by traditional police line-ups.

The Social Transformation series will profile lead researchers in these areas with a focus on social transformation for researchers, policymakers and the general public.
