Historian returns for guest lecture

Cultural historian and former Flinders lecturer Professor Victoria Haskins will return to present a lecture titled ‘The Domestic Diaspora: Domestic service and colonial mobility’ in memory of Emeritus Professor Eric Richards.

Now based at the University of Newcastle, Professor Haskins worked at Flinders from 2000 to 2006. Her key research areas include Indigenous history, domestic labour and migration.

Emeritus Professor Eric Richards held a Professorial Chair in History at Flinders University from the early 1970s until his retirement. He was an eminent historian of British and Australian migration history, who greatly impacted the community at Flinders and South Australia more broadly.

Drinks and nibbles will be provided from 6:00pm.
