Ride to cure cancer

The Tour de Cure is partnering with Flinders Foundation to raise funds for major cancer research projects in South Australia, as part of the inaugural SA Discovery Tour.

Some 150 cyclists will roll aboard the Sea Link and ride through the pristine wilderness and welcoming communities of Kangaroo Island from 23-56 May 2019 – and there is still time to get involved.

The first SA Discovery Tour will feature 300kms of wildlife sanctuary, mouth-watering wine stops, and incredible landscapes over just three days.

Cyclists are aiming to raise over $300,000 that will be used to fund major South Australian cancer research projects , including life-saving research undertaken by the Flinders Foundation.

A team of support crew, made up of passionate supporters, corporate sponsors and community minded people will assist experienced Tour de Cure ride leaders, medics and mechanics.

Throughout the experience, the riders will also visit primary schools where they will share Tour de Cures ‘Be Fit, Be Healthy, Be Happy’ cancer prevention message with 1000 kids in the region.

Those wanting to join this valuable initiative will help raise vital funds for cancer research and prevention projects. Costs to get involved and support vital initiatives are:

  • Full Tour Rider – $2,500 minimum, plus a $500 registration fee
  • Support Crew – $750 minimum, plus a $250 registration fee

To register interest in the ride as either a rider or support crew, please visit the Tour de Cure website. Alternatively, call 08 8204 5216 or email info@flindersfoundation.org.au.
