Media outlets are increasingly being proactive in their efforts to balance gender in reporting and the ABC has approached Flinders, seeking women experts to add to their media contacts.

The media and communications team at Flinders maintains a list of experts to call upon when media representatives ask for comment.

With the commencement of a new year, it’s an opportune time to update this list and in doing so, provide the ABC with female experts to help with its TV, radio and online reporting.

Any academic staff who do not recall being contacted by the media team for comment (or are new to Flinders), and are interested in responding to timely enquiries, are invited to express their interest – and women are particularly encouraged.

Please email your name, area of media expertise and contact number (preferably mobile) to the media team and you will be added to the expert media list. In the case of women, your details will also be forwarded to the ABC. A link to be added to the expert media directory is also provided at the bottom of each FiT newsletter.
