Stepping up a gear for 2019

In 2018 Service One brought together a wide range of service requests in one place. As a proof-of-concept, it has shown that it’s possible to significantly improve the experience of staff requesting services while also reducing pain for staff managing those requests.

Throughout 2019, Service One will transition to a more capable technology platform to ideally meet the needs of all service requestors and providers at Flinders University. This will bring all services into a single platform, including those that require approvals or involve multiple teams.

Moving forward, the Service One project team has set out three clear goals:

  • Continue to use the feedback from service requestors and providers, to enhance the user experience of Service One
  • Improve the way teams manage services within the Service One solution
  • Support service delivery teams to identify and implement process improvements

To meet these goals, the technical project team will focus on configuring a more feature-rich and capable Service One solution, while a business readiness team will focus on the management of services provided across the university and the best use of the technology to ensure services for staff are fast to request, simple to fulfil and easy to manage.

This represents a major gear shift for the project team and a great opportunity to address many of the issues identified in the Service Review.

More detailed information about the new direction can be found on the Service One webpage.
