Enhancing staff support – Professional Services Survey

The University is seeking staff feedback on a survey that will help refine and improve services provided to support staff, their teams and students.

To help understand and improve services provided across the University, the Improving Flinders Services Survey has been developed to gather feedback on services used over the last three months.

Survey data will be analysed alongside feedback gathered at the recent service review workshops. The survey provides an opportunity for staff who did not attend these to give their feedback, or for those who did to submit further detail if desired.

The survey data will provide a benchmark and help identify where to invest time and resources to make University services more efficient and easier to access. It will also uncover where Flinders is doing well, for possible amplification of these areas.

This is the first University-wide survey of this nature. A follow-up is scheduled for mid-2019, with plans to undertake the survey twice a year in the future.

The survey is a mechanism to surface valuable insights that can help drive positive change. It does not aim to compare departments or publicly share information.

Next steps

Once the survey is closed and analysis of the data is complete, next steps are:

  1. The Service Review Committee will review the data to identify a number of university-wide service improvement projects.
  2. Final results and recommendations will be presented to the Vice-Chancellor and Senior Executive Committee.
  3. The Service Review Committee will work with the executive of each area – sharing results and identifying where improvements can be made, as well as ways to reinforce the positive feedback received.  This may result in a series of local area projects that will be developed and implemented with service leaders.
  4. Agreed university-wide and local projects will be communicated to all staff with ongoing updates.

If staff would like to share feedback outside of the survey period, they are asked to speak with the relevant professional services team or Director of College Services at any time.

Staff are asked to please complete the confidential survey via the link provided in the staff newsletter or all staff email, by Friday 5 April 2019.
