An artist's impression of a solar shelter to be constructed in carpark 1
Solar shelters are coming to campus, with four shelters being installed in key locations at Bedford Park.
Shelter locations:
- North of car park 2
- Two shelters in car park 1
- On the path north of the footbridge
The shelters will be self-sufficient, using power produced by the solar panels to charge built-in batteries for device charging and lighting. They will also provide seating and cover from the weather.
There will be minor disruptions to the top level of car park 1 as the shelters are installed.
Works are anticipated to commence in late September and finish in December 2019. Keep an eye on the Sustainability page in the coming weeks for updates.
