Works underway for Trading Room

A new business Trading Room will provide a simulated financial trading centre for Flinders students to develop real-world skills. Work has commenced in the Law and Commerce Building to ensure the fantastic facility is open for the 2020 teaching year.

The cutting-edge market simulation will enable students to access time-series data on security prices and exchange rates and execute trades in real time – like Wall Street for beginners!

The entry/exit door on Level 2 of the Law and Commerce Building (at the top of the north-west staircase) will be closed from Tuesday 8 October to Wednesday 30 October while the entryway for the Trading Room is refurbished.

Throughout this time, entry is available via the south wing door, and exit via any of the emergency exit stairwells.

Staff can expect some noisy demolition to take place on 8 and 9 October, however excessively disruptive noise such as hammer drilling is restricted to the early morning between 6 and 9am.

As part of the Learning Space Program, some of the Law and Commerce building’s courtyard teaching spaces will be refreshed, complete with contemporary new furniture, new air conditioning and improved technology.

Thank you for your patience while these wonderful new spaces are created. Any queries may be directed to the property team at pfd@flinders.edu.au or on 8201 2733.
