Health2Go makes it official

An exciting step in what will become a thriving community health precinct at Flinders University was celebrated with the formal opening of Health2Go on October 24 2019.

Shadow Health Minister for Health and Wellbeing and Member for Kaurna Chris Picton officially opened the facility, located at Flinders’ Sturt Campus, alongside College of Nursing and Health Sciences Vice President and Executive Dean Professor Alison Kitson.

Health2Go expands on the services of its predecessor Flinders Vision, offering affordable optometry, physiotherapy, speech pathology and audiology to Flinders University staff and students, together with members of the community.

It has a vision to develop further with additional services and screening programs that will benefit the local community.

Health2Go also gives Flinders allied health students the chance to build clinical experience within an on-site training facility with state-of-the-art equipment.

The clinic is already helping to facilitate ground-breaking research projects within the Flinders Caring Futures Institute, launched in August this year.

Caring Futures Institute researcher Dr Paul Constable has established autism-friendly optometry services at Health2Go and continues to drive a life-changing method to detect autism in young children through a simple eye scan.

Health2Go is open Monday – Friday from 9am – 5pm. Parking is available in car park 13.
