Harassment – learn to recognise and respond

A professional development opportunity will equip participants with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to provide appropriate responses to people who have been sexually assaulted or sexually harassed.

The course is being presented by Yarrow Place in conjunction with Flinders University’s Health, Counselling and Disability Services, and is open to academic and professional staff. It is a three-hour course and will be delivered onsite at Oasis, opposite Car Park 5.

Through attending the training participants will:

  • gain an understanding of the context in which rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment occurs and examine myths and values that contribute to the silencing of victims
  • recognise the impact of sexual assault and sexual harassment  on survivors
  • develop skills to respond appropriately to disclosures of sexual assault or sexual harassment
  • increase knowledge of University policy and procedure, and possible referral points (on and off campus)
