Culturally diverse films feature in movie spectacular

Saudi student Afnan Beela, studying a Master of Screen and Media Production at the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, will have her short documentary featured as part of a special Sunset Screening event in the Plaza this Friday November 22.

Ms Beela, who is currently in Melbourne attending the Screen Forever conference through a student grant, is excited that her film One Life, about her Saudi friend Salha who is a pasty chef, was screened last week at the Saudi Student Association graduation ceremony in Adelaide.

Now One Life will be part of a larger program for the Flinders Sunset Screening, presented within a series of short films made by Flinders Screen Production students and alumni that will screen during the outdoor event from 5pm to 11pm.

Register online for this free event.

Attendees are welcome to bring their own picnic hamper and blanket – although no BYO alcohol. A cash bar and some food will be available.

*Viewer discretion for the Sunset Session is advised. Some of the films may include strong content. Children under 15 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian for the duration of the films.
