Creating better online experiences for students

The Library has established a new consultation service to make it easier to find student-friendly resources, textbooks and essential readings online.

This year has seen Library staff increase their work with staff and publishers to build resources and services that can help academic staff create better online learning experiences for students.

The Library is continuing to partner with staff on embedding information literacy into topics, and adapting its services to online teaching. Services include:

  • embedding information literacy information into FLO pages
  • interactive learning activities
  • pre-recorded sessions
  • monitoring of discussion boards
  • lecture recordings from previous years
  • standalone self-paced FLO topics available to all students – developing basic and intermediate information literacy skills

Please note that sessions in classes/lectures using Collaborate are no longer offered as a core service, however if staff have specific requirements where students may benefit from having a Librarian attend a class, please contact the Library.
