Boost your education research reach

Education researchers are invited to boost their profile by harnessing the resources of the Media Centre for Education Research Australia (MCERA). An independent organisation, MCERA is devoted to giving a stronger voice to education research through activities that include referring journalists to experts for comment, and issuing rapid responses to breaking issues.

Flinders University is a Platinum Sponsor of MCERA, which provides our staff with free access to a range of services.

Academics who have completed research in the areas of early childhood education, schools, vocational education and training, or universities – and are keen to engage with the media – are invited to register on MCERA’s expert database.

MCERA works closely with the Flinders University news team, which should continue to be the first point of contact for new and upcoming research or publications.

MCERA has boosted the research and expertise of more than 200 academics since commencing work three years ago, with the organisation’s Media Manager Scott Arthurson advising: “Researchers have control over this process, our promotion of your work is predicated on your input and permission.”

Interested staff can view MCERA’s testimonials page or services summary page.

Eligibility

Researchers do not need to be part of the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work to work with MCERA. The team can work with academics in any college who have completed peer-reviewed work in an area relevant to schools, universities, vocational education and training, or early childhood education.

Further resources

Other expert lists to sign up to include Scimex and the Expert Guide. Academics interested in raising their profile might also like to check out this media resource from the Australian Science Media Centre.
