Cup goes virtual – but benefits are real

This year, the Flinders Cup will be held virtually via mobile phone app, allowing participants to complete their laps at any time during the working week.

The Flinders Cup is designed as a fun and supportive event over six weeks that encourages people of all backgrounds and fitness levels to participate in physical activity.

This year participants will be required to log their walks or runs on the Strava app. At the end of the week, staff will record individual times to calculate results and improvements for that week. These results we be communicated via weekly email.

A celebratory awards ceremony will announce prize winners at the completion of the final round.

To assist in covering the costs of the event, a once-off $10 entry fee per person applies. This is payable in cash on Tuesday 11 August at the event, or via EFTPOS at Flinders University Sport and Fitness reception at any time prior to the event.

When: Monday 10 August to Friday 19 September
What: Run or walk one, two of three laps of the 1.4km loop at any stage during the working week.

Please note, the course will be staffed and clearly marked using signage and cones between 11am-1pm each Tuesday for those who are new to the event or unfamiliar with the course from last year.
