PhD extravaganza around the corner

DocFest 2020 will showcase Flinders University’s higher degree by research students through interactive activities, events and competitions designed to celebrate our postgraduate talent and inspire others considering a higher degree by research.

The four-day showcase will be presented by the Office of Graduate Research in conjunction with the University colleges, from 8 through to 11 September at Bedford Park campus.

HDR posters will be displayed in the Alere function space with participating students competing for prizes, and a tweeting competition will spark new discussions while helping build social media nous in Flinders PhD candidates.

The University community on main campus should keep an eye out for an entertaining ‘Dino Dance competition’ in the Plaza on Wednesday 9 September, with appropriately costumed staff and student teams battling it out for the Dino Dance championship.

Friday will see Dean of Graduate Research Professor Tara Brabazon host her 30-minute intensive Skype writing session ‘The Write Bunch’ on the big screen in the Plaza, for all to enjoy.

The week will wrap up with a closing party at Alere on Friday afternoon for HDR students, supervisors and industry partners.
