Two new policies are currently open for consultation. Staff are invited to give feedback on a draft new Close Personal Relationships Policy and a draft revised Conflict of Interest Policy. These can be viewed on the University’s policies web page.

The draft new Close Personal Relationships Policy will replace the current Staff / Student Relationships Policy, while the draft Conflict of Interest Policy is a refresh of the existing policy.

The two policies work together in that the issues caused by close personal relationships are largely due to the conflicts of interest created by the relationship. Hence, the Close Personal Relationships Policy requires relationships to be managed in accordance with the Conflict of Interest Policy.
