Sonatas for violin and piano in next concert

Sonatas for violin and piano by Prokofiev and Beethoven will be the focus for the next Music at Flinders free concert, on Wednesday May 12.

The program – being presented in the Oasis Building from 4.10pm to 5pm – will feature violinist Paris Williams and pianist Alexander Hanysz.

In 2020, Paris Williams graduated from the Elder Conservatorium of Music with a Bachelor of Music (Advanced) on violin, studying under Dr Elizabeth Layton, and is currently studying for an Honours Degree in Classical Performance. Paris has held the position of Concertmaster of the Elder Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra, and in 2019 she received the Marnie Cowan Music Scholarship and The Franz and Catherine Anders Prize from the Elder Conservatorium.

Alexander Hanysz enjoys a diverse career embracing many facets of the pianist’s art – as soloist, accompanist for singers and instrumentalists, chamber musician, repetiteur and orchestral pianist. He has performed throughout Australia and recorded for ABC Classic FM and for MBS radio in several states. He has also appeared as soloist and chamber musician in the UK.

Refreshments will not be available at the concerts however guests are welcome to bring snacks and drinks.
