Take up the challenge this spring

Are you looking for a way to stay fit and active as we head into spring? The University Health and Wellbeing program may have the perfect solution.

The Flinders University Active Challenge will run from 20 September to 15 October, with groups of up to 10 people competing in the 10,000-step tournament. Participants can use a pedometer, activity tracker or smart phone app to count their steps and activity, with the aim being to get as many steps in as possible and help your team win the challenge.

To count your steps and record other physical activities, you can:

  • Use a free app available for smart phones.
  • Sync your steps by connecting your Fitbit, Google Fit or Garmin activity tracking account.
  • Request a free pedometer from the Challenge coordinator. There are a limited number available – so it’s first in, first served!

Registering is easy. Sign up at www.10000steps.org.au with your university email address. Once you’ve registered, email the coordinator to confirm your registration and the email address you signed up with. If you would like to participate but don’t have a team, the coordinator can allocate you into one.

For more information, please contact coordinator Barbara Kupke by email barbara.kupke@flinders.edu.au or phone 8201 5123.
