Make the most of the new Handbook

Handbook, the new platform for course rules and topic information, is now live and ready for use.

Handbook is the new home for all important information regarding all course and topic offerings, including the Programs of Study for 2022 and future years.

The current course rules page will continue to be available for information on all courses and topics commencing in or before 2021.

How it works

Handbook integrates directly with CourseLoop (the University curriculum management system) and is the culmination of extensive data cleansing, curriculum structure building and the application of approved data principles. This integration from CourseLoop, supports the presentation of the most up-to-date versions for all approved governed curriculum commencing from next year.

Current students can continue to easily access their own course rule by logging in to Compass and selecting ‘My Courses’. Students wanting to transfer to a new course, add another degree to existing studies or view future topic selections, will be directed to view options via the Handbook.

Key benefits of Handbook

  • Consistent presentation of courses, topics, majors and minors
  • Automatic publication of approved governed curriculum
  • Detailed topic assessment information (coming early 2022)
  • Multiple search options
  • Favourites and recently searched items can be saved
  • Programs of Study display core topics in the half of the year in which they should be undertaken
  • Modern and device friendly interface

The implementation of Handbook is a major deliverable of Phase 2 in the Curriculum Management Program (CMP) and the result of a successful collaboration between the Educational Quality Team, Online Learning and Teaching and IDS.
