Joins us for the 2021 Uncle Lewis Lecture

Join Dr Jackie Huggins AM FAHA for the 2021 Uncle Lewis Yarlupurka O’Brien Public Lecture, an event that recognises Uncle Lewis’ eldership, knowledge and cultural scholarship, his commitment to education – particularly higher education – and his generosity of spirit to the South Australia community and specifically to Flinders University.

Dr Huggins, Co-Chair for the Treaty Advancement Committee (TAC) with the Queensland Government, will deliver this year’s address on Wednesday 3 November at Alere Function Centre. The theme for the 2021 address is Compelled to forget and forced to remember, and it will examine how the time has come to own and be truthful about Australia’s past.

Associate Professor Simone Tur, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Indigenous), will facilitate the lecture.

The event will be held from 5.30pm at Alere Function Centre, and streamed online. Drinks and nibbles will be served after the lecture.
