Making a brilliant Digital Health connection

Professor Trish Williams, Flinders University’s Professor of Digital Health Systems, has been named as one of the 2021 Brilliant Women in Digital Health, a new Telstra Health Award that recognises and celebrates women in digital health for their outstanding achievements, while raising awareness about the opportunities in the sector and inspiring others to follow their lead.

The awards have been created as an important component of the Brilliant Connected Women in Digital Health network, which launched in October 2020. This network has now grown to nearly 1000 women and men who work in, or have an interest in, digital health – and the award initiative helps to connect, share, inspire and celebrate the network.

Explaining why she is so passionate about digital health, Professional Williams says “being a techie at heart, and coming from a family of medical doctors, I always knew I wanted to use my capabilities in computing to support the medical profession to do their job. As clichéd as it sounds, I’m passionate about making a difference through safe, secure practical solutions. Technology, cybersecurity, common sense and health care are an exciting combination!”

Professor Williams will be featured in a six-week digital marketing campaign to support further promotion of the Brilliant Connected Women in Digital Health network, and its efforts to highlight advances in digital health.
