Improving the casual academic pay process

The end-to-end process of casual academic engagement and scheduling is being improved, thanks to a collaboration between People and Culture (P&C) and Information and Digital Services (IDS).

Casual academics will now have their payslips held in Workday like all other employees at Flinders University.

This process will include the introduction of timesheets via a technical platform selected for its easy-to-use and intuitive system.

Changes coming in September 2022 will include:

  • Timesheets being pre-populated from a casual academic’s schedule, presented to them in each pay period they are scheduled to work.
  • Casual academics needing to review and submit their timesheets fortnightly.
  • Any changes made to a timesheet submitted by the casual academic will be automatically sent to a delegate for approval.

People involved in this project, P&C and the Colleges will be available to provide assistance through these changes. More information on this new process will be shared over the next few months.
