As preparations continue for the 2023 teaching year, works around campus this week include traffic works on University Drive, a temporary closure of Sports Road and window cleaning across Bedford Park and Sturt campuses.
University Drive traffic works and temporary closure on Sports Road
Sports Road will be closed on Wednesday 8 February to allow for contractors to lay bitumen on Sports Road to reseal it following earlier works. The road will be closed for the full day.
- There will be no right turn from Service Road onto Flinders Drive, and no left turn from University Drive onto Flinders Drive.
- Traffic controllers will be stationed at the Service Road/Flinders Drive intersection and the Flinders Drive/University Drive intersection.
- Detour signs will be in place to assist traffic.
Resealing works on University Drive and Sturt Road
Resealing works will take place at the intersection of University Drive and Sturt Road on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 February.
- The right lane on University Drive heading towards the Sturt Road intersection will be closed from the University Drive/Sturt Drive intersection on 16 and 17 February.
- The right turning lane from Sturt Drive to University Drive will be closed from midday on Friday 17 February.
- Speed restrictions will continue to be in place.
Please continue to drive carefully and follow all signage and directions, particularly when workers are on site.
Window cleaning
Window cleaning is scheduled across Bedford Park, Sturt and Tonsley throughout February, with the program scheduled to be completed by Tuesday 7 March. Please note that the schedule below is indicative only and subject to change without notice.
If you have operable windows, please keep them closed when window cleaners are on site. For safety reasons, some of the areas around and below these locations may be temporarily inaccessible while cleaning occurs. Please follow any temporary pedestrian diversions in place. For the Tonsley building, contractors need to abseil down the side of the building to access windows. If you have any queries at any time, please contact Luke Lilburn via email.
