Funds to advance addiction research

Professor Jacqueline Bowden

National Centre for Education and Training on Addiction (NCETA) Director Professor Jacqueline Bowden has secured a $1.7 million Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Research Grant from the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care. The funding will be used to research into addiction and substance abuse over the next two years.

Flinders AI expert at the cutting edge

Dr Narelle Hunter from the College of Science and Engineering will join an expert panel on Friday 19 May to outline the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in higher education. Hosted by the Higher Education Research Group Adelaide (HERGA), the event – being presented at noon in the Pridham Hall Function Room in UniSA City West campus – will feature experts from South Australia’s three major universities to discuss the key issues and address burning questions around AI. Citizen scientists take the stage

Professor Karen Burke Da Silva featured in a recent session hosted by Cosmos Magazine (published by the Royal Institution of Australia) at its offices in Exchange Place, Adelaide, to promote its new monthly Science City lunchtime forums. The Science City lunchtime forums will be a collection of free one-hour Q&A sessions featuring experts from South Australian universities and special guests in an informal chat format. The next event will be held on Monday 5 June to mark World Environment Day.
