Campus roads and car park lighting – Sturt Drive

We’re replacing streetlights along Sturt Drive near Flinders Living with LEDs. The works are part of a campus-wide campaign to improve safety and further contribute towards our sustainability goals. Compared to traditional lighting systems, LEDs have lower wattage, are more efficient and last longer. And our campus is powered by 100% renewable energy for electricity, contributing to a more sustainable tomorrow.

Matthew Flinders Theatre works

Access to the Matthew Flinders Theatre (MFT) is closed until later this month for works. If you’re nearby, expect to hear loud grinding and steel cutting noise.

Reminder – Gym and surrounding areas cloosed to replace cooling

There will be a crane lift outside the Alan Mitchell Sports Centre from approximate 5.30am to 9.45am on Saturday 17 August. To ensure safety, temporary closures will be in place in:

• All levels of the gym
• Upper level of car park 1
• Steps between the upper level of car park 1 and the gym
• Path to/from car park 1 to the Health Sciences building.

Traffic managers will be on site to divert pedestrians and drivers along other routes. The central steps up from/down to the middle and lower levels of car park 1 and the southern access ramp near Biology will not be affected.

Parking in car park 1 will still be available on the middle and lower levels and access to FUSA and the Student Centre will be via the southern doors.

Update on improvement works in CSE

Stormwater works continue – now in the Physical Sciences courtyard. The new ground floor undergraduate science lab redevelopment is progressing well, including the canopy over the door and ‘break-out spaces’ into car park 7. Below is an artist’s impression of completed works.
