The University has listened to your feedback and is excited to announce an improvement to the way University staff and affiliates can book their travel.
From 12 March, the Serko ZENO online travel booking system, currently provided by Phil Hoffmann Corporate Travel, will be integrated with Okta Single Sign On (SSO) to create a more seamless, secure, and efficient travel booking experience.
With Serko ZENO, University staff can book work-related domestic flights, accommodation and car hire without the need to speak to a travel consultant, at a lower booking fee. Serko ZENO provides access to our contracted rates, with Qantas and Virgin, as well as our network of accommodation and car hire contracts. Low-cost alternatives such as Rex and Jetstar are also available for you to book as required.
In addition to this change, University staff and affiliates will now also be able to book Trans-Tasman travel via Serko ZENO.
Serko ZENO bookings require payment for flights to be made at the time of booking via a Corporate Credit Card. For bookings requiring invoicing, the Phil Hoffmann Corporate Travel consultants will continue to be available to assist Flinders staff.
What’s changing?
Serko ZENO is not a new system for the University – in 2024 27% of domestic travel booked through Phil Hoffmann Corporate Travel was booked through Serko ZENO. However, access required getting a profile set up manually, and access was via username and password.
From Wednesday 12 March 2025, after logging into Nutrip to obtain travel approval, a traveller profile will be automatically created for you in Nutrip and synchronised with Serko ZENO as part of the Okta integration. Serko ZENO will be accessible to you via the Okta home page, or through a link in Nutrip. From there you can book domestic and Trans-Tasman air travel, accommodation and vehicle hire online with your Corporate Credit Card, once your travel is approved. This streamlined process will enhance your security and support efficiency thanks to the SSO technology.
If your preferred name is different to your legal name or your passport name, you should ensure you have updated this information in Workday. System integrations will then ensure this flows into Nutrip and Serko ZENO so your flights are booked in the correct name.
As Nutrip is the source data that feeds into Serko ZENO, you may be prompted to update some profile information in Nutrip such as your mobile number, and default airport location, which are required to successfully complete any travel booking.
Training and support
Serko ZENO online training sessions will be offered for staff to receive a refresher on booking staff travel, including the new automated process. Support resources will also be provided on the University’s staff travel webpages.
Exciting times are ahead as we continue to enhance your travel booking experience. Look out for more details via email soon!
