
June power outage in Biological Sciences Building
Between 5:45am and 11:00am on Saturday 14 June, the Biological Sciences Building will be closed while power is temporarily switched off. The building will be closed during works, as part of the ongoing refurbishment of labs on levels 1 and 2. Please follow directions on signage during works.
June Safety Switch (RCD) testing and equipment Test & Tag
RCD (safety switch) testing will be conducted through June in the:
- Physical Sciences building
- South Lecture Theatre complex
- Biological Sciences building.
RCD testing is conducted out of ordinary business hours.
In June electrical equipment testing and tagging will be conducted in the:
- South Lecture Theatre complex
- Sir Eric Neal building
- Health & Medical Research Building.
Testing and tagging takes place during business hours. Technicians will ask to test equipment on your desks.
Library refurbishment
On Monday 9 June, Flinders Connect will be temporarily relocated to level 1 of the Central Library, while level 0 (library ground floor) undergoes refurbishment. Construction works begin on Monday 16 June and there will be no access to level 0 of the Central Library from the Student Hub or Plaza until works are completed in late September/early October.
Access to the level 0 library staff section and level 0 toilets will remain open – with access from the steps and lift within the library only. Please follow signage for redirections throughout this time.
Tonsley façade works
If you work at or visit Flinders at Tonsley from 2 June to 8 August, please be aware works are underway to replace some panels on the northern and southern façades and around some doorways.
An elevated work platform and scaffold are being used, so please follow any directions on signage and don’t cross into the work zone. Access to the Flinders building will be maintained, and pedestrian diversions in place around the work zone.
Campus roads and car park lighting
To improve safety and sustainability campus, LEDs are now being replaced on the Student Centre pathway and Biology Road Walk (top of car park 1). Between now and August, when works wrap up, please follow directions on signs when walking through the areas.
