Biological Sciences and Library updates, and High Voltage works a success!
Biological Sciences Building works update
Between 6am and 12 noon this Saturday 19 July, the Biological Sciences Building will be closed while power is temporarily switched off.
The closure is part of the ongoing refurbishment of labs on levels 1 and 2. Please follow directions on signage during works.
Central Library refurbishment update
Works scheduled for last week on the northern/Registry Road side of the Central Library have been delayed to this week, including the set up and pack down of a truck and lay down area opposite Grind & Press, and scaffolding on the library’s external steps.
On 17 July only, a temporary works exclusion zone will be established for a truck and lay down area opposite the Registry building, with traffic management in place to retain pedestrian access.
Until Friday 8 August, the path and external steps on the northern side of the library will be closed with a scaffold over the steps. Please follow directions on signage and do not enter the works exclusion zone.
Tonsley facade panels
The replacement of the Aluminium Composite Panelling (ACP) from the building façade has now recommenced with installation this week including the new cladding and installation of panels above the south facing main entry and above the bottom of the main entry stairs. Installations around entry points will take place prior to 7:30am today and tomorrow, and remaining works will be conducted each day between 6:30am and 3:00pm.
Works on the northern entry are scheduled for next week, 21 to 25 July and will be completed out of normal hours. Please follow directions on signage.
Tonsley car park 2 temporary closure
Tonsley car park (P2) will be closed on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 July for works.
Please use public transport or park in the public car park, P4, if working or studying in Tonsley this weekend.
Refer to the parking map for locations.
Successful high voltage shutdowns
Months of planning went into the two weekends of high volage shutdowns across all building on North Ridge, culminating in the successful completion of works on Sunday.
The maintenance, testing and substation work ensures our systems continue to operate safely, reduces the risk of unplanned outages and enables future campus electrification and proposed major developments.
Thank you to everyone on North Ridge for your cooperation and understanding during the shutdowns.
