
Following a competitive recruitment process, Jonathan Pheasant has been appointed Vice-President (Corporate Services), commencing on 7 October.
Holding a Master of Business Administration and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Jonathan is an experienced executive with a strong record of leading operational portfolios in complex organisations. He has deep expertise in strategic planning, transformation, and service delivery.
Currently Chief Operating Officer at the University of Canberra, Jonathan has executive responsibility for a broad portfolio including human resources, finance, planning, student recruitment and marketing, IT and cybersecurity, legal and risk, facilities and commercial development.
His career spans senior executive roles at Australian National University, the University of New South Wales, The University of Adelaide, and in the telecommunications and defence sectors.
Among his achievements are the design and implementation of institution-wide shared services, leadership of major infrastructure partnerships, and driving long-term strategic and financial planning across diverse university environments.
President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Colin Stirling welcomed Jonathan to a fearless future at Flinders University.
“Jonathan will lead the Corporate Services portfolio at Flinders and joins us at a significant time as we continue to invest in our people, systems and infrastructure to support our education and research activities, deliver our capital program, and ensure a strong, sustainable future,” said Professor Stirling.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mark Gregory, who will conclude his time with us on 22 August after nearly nine years of valued service. I also wish to thank Shane Jennings for stepping in to serve as Interim Vice-President (Corporate Services) and for his continued leadership and support.”
