Welcome to our new Deputy Chancellor

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Leanne Liddle as Deputy Chancellor of Flinders University.

A proud Flinders alumna, and 2021 Distinguished Alumni Awardee, Ms Liddle brings to the role a distinguished record of public service and a deep connection to our work across central and northern Australia. With academic qualifications in Science, Law and Management, she has built a nationally respected career spanning justice, policy and health, and currently serves as Director of the Aboriginal Justice Unit in the Northern Territory Government.

Ms Liddle is a trailblazer whose leadership and policy acumen are invaluable as Flinders continues to grow and deepen its impact across the Northern Territory and beyond. Her appointment strengthens the strategic leadership of the University Council at a time of significant growth and regional engagement, and reflects our enduring commitment to equity, innovation and regional impact.

In addition to her role on the University Council, which she joined in 2023, Ms Liddle serves as Deputy Chair of the Menzies School of Health Research and is a board member of the NT/SA Central Royal Flying Doctor Service. She was named Northern Territory Australian of the Year in 2022 in recognition of her outstanding contribution to social justice.

Ms Liddle succeeds Mr Douglas Gautier AM, who resigned from Council to take up an international appointment in Saudi Arabia. We thank Mr Gautier for his service and wish him every success in his new role.
