Sturt lift repairs underway

Repairs to the Sturt South lift are underway this week, with lift access expected to reopen on Monday 3 November. Until the lift reopens:

4	Steps. There is currently no lift access.

Sturt North lift replacement works are also ongoing until the end of the year. Please contact Security on 8201 2880 for access assistance.

Lightning protection

From today, you may notice contractors on the roofs or conducting excavation works around these buildings:

• Sir Eric Neal (Engineering)
• Earth Sciences
• Physical Sciences
• Biological Sciences
• Health Sciences

They will be installing lightning rods on roofs and associated conductors down to new earth pits / grounding systems.

Work will continue until mid-December.

Accessible toilet works

Commencing on Monday 10 November, we are adjusting Accessible/Unisex toilet door widths in select buildings. During works, facilities will be closed.

Please use the alternate toilets as marked below and follow directions on signage.

Works are expected to be completed by 21 November.

Education building louvre maintenance

Between 7am and 1pm on Saturday 1 November, stage 2 of louvre maintenance works will occur on the second floor of the Education building.

As the louvres sit above the main entrance on the front (western face) of the building, there will be no access in/out of the building using the front door during works.

Building access will be maintained via the rear entrance from car park 2N. Please follow diversions on signage.

Electrical upgrade works on Humanities Road

Upgrade works on the northern section of Humanities Road between Oasis/Café Bon Voyage/The Laneway and the back of the Central Library will now start on Monday 24 November.

Humanities Road will remain open until works begin.

Social Sciences North (SSN) works updates

• Expansion of the Flinders University Psychology Clinic in the SSN building are nearing completion. We anticipate works will be ongoing until Friday 31 October.
• Meanwhile, works on SSN courtyard steps and retaining wall are ongoing. The concrete pour was delayed to Saturday 1 November. Courtyard works are expected to be completed in November.

Please follow all diversions as directed on signs, especially through the buildings and breezeways and stay out of work zones.

Sports Road partial closure

From 6.00am to 12noon on Saturday 1 November, Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) will be temporarily closing one lane of Sports Road, adjacent to the Health and Medical Research Building (HMRB), for Margaret Tobin Centre redevelopment works.

Traffic management will be in place to direct cars via one lane. Access is retained:

• To/from Flinders Station and car park 12
• To/from the HMRB loading dock.

Pedestrian access is retained:

• To/from Flinders Station and car park 12
• In/out of the HMRB entrances
• To Flinders Medical Centre and Flinders Private Hospital.

Please allow extra time when accessing the HMRB, car park 12 and Flinders Railway station, follow directions of traffic management officials and signage, and observe speed limit changes in the area.
