Academic Promotions – Supervisor Training

Academic supervisors play a critical role in supporting staff through the academic promotions process — from early career conversations through to application preparation and feedback following outcomes.

To support supervisors in this role, centrally offered training is available at Bedford Park campus or online, on Tuesday 12 May 2026: Supporting Your Staff in Academic Promotions.

This training for academic supervisors highlights the key topics from the guide Supporting Your Staff in Academic Promotions (Supervisor Guide) and focuses on practical ways supervisors can support staff at each stage of the promotions journey. This includes how to help staff assess readiness, align their applications with the new requirements of Academic Career Framework, develop strong evidence‑based narratives. Supervisor will also learn how to provide fair, informed supervisor reports.

All information covered in the session, along with additional guidance and resources, is also available on the ACF Hub.

How to register

Supervisors can register via the ACF Hub or directly through the Eventbrite registration link: Supporting Your Staff in Academic Promotions – Eventbrite Registration

Please note that sessions will be offered in person and livestreamed, with recordings available on the ACF Hub after the sessions conclude.
