{"id":11245,"date":"2018-12-03T13:34:28","date_gmt":"2018-12-03T03:04:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/fit\/?p=11245"},"modified":"2018-12-05T10:28:45","modified_gmt":"2018-12-04T23:58:45","slug":"flinders-research-management-receives-new-technology-boost","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/fit\/2018\/12\/03\/flinders-research-management-receives-new-technology-boost\/","title":{"rendered":"Flinders research management receives new technology boost"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In November 2017, Flinders began an exciting journey to modernise its digital research management environment, to meet research objectives outlined in\u202f<em>Making a Difference: The 2025\u00a0Agenda<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>After an intensive period of consultation with the research community, Research Development and Support (RDS) and Digital Research Services (DRS) ran an open tender\u00a0for a software solution to\u00a0replace the ageing\u00a0<em>ResearchMaster\u00a0<\/em>system; replace\u00a0<em>RePortal<\/em>; and\u00a0help\u00a0streamline\u00a0ethics\u00a0approvals.\u00a0Our research community told us that the solution had to be easy to use and work as a\u00a0<em>single system<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The tender team selected two\u00a0components\u00a0that would be\u00a0<em>integrated\u00a0<\/em>to\u00a0establish\u00a0a solid foundation for the evolving\u00a0<em>Research Ecosystem<\/em>\u00a0at Flinders:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Elsevier\u202f<\/b><em>Pure<\/em> for\u00a0improved research management<\/li>\n<li><b>Infonetica<\/b><b>\u202f<\/b><em>ERM<\/em> for\u00a0more efficient ethics process management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A project team, drawn from DRS, RDS, and the Library, will\u00a0release the integrated\u00a0<em>Pure<\/em>\u202fand\u00a0<em>ERM<\/em> solution\u00a0in four\u00a0stages.<\/p>\n<p>By\u00a0early 2019,\u00a0Stage 1\u00a0will be released.\u00a0This will provide researchers with\u00a0more accurate publication management,\u00a0as well as\u00a0enriched\u00a0researcher\u00a0profiles to\u00a0help\u00a0promote\u00a0Flinders\u00a0research\u00a0and\u00a0collaborations.
