{"id":16367,"date":"2021-07-13T11:38:08","date_gmt":"2021-07-13T02:08:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/fit\/?p=16367"},"modified":"2021-07-13T11:38:08","modified_gmt":"2021-07-13T02:08:08","slug":"lace-up-your-running-shoes-for-a-good-cause","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/fit\/2021\/07\/13\/lace-up-your-running-shoes-for-a-good-cause\/","title":{"rendered":"Lace up your running shoes for a good cause"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Take on the City-Bay this year and join the Flinders Foundation &#8211; Ryan Hodges Fund team to help raise funds for cancer treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan and Helen Hodges, Senior Advisor Orientation and Transition, have partnered with the Flinders Foundation to fund a scholarship in the Precision Dosing Research team, in the hopes of making individualised cancer treatment widely available, providing all patients with doses of drugs tailored for their own body.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer seven years ago, and credits individualised, precision dosing for giving him more time with his family.<\/p>\n<p>To be a part of the fundraising efforts, register for the City-Bay and head to the <a href=\"https:\/\/citybay21.grassrootz.com\/flinders-foundation\/ryan-hodges-fund\">Flinders Foundation \u2013 Ryan Hodges Fund page<\/a> and join the fundraising team.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll get specialised training tips from Chris Rawling, former professional triathlete and Exercise Physiologist from Flinders Sport &amp; Fitness, and the opportunity to join Flinders Sport &amp; Fitness running group which is held every Wednesday morning at 6am, also run by Chris.<\/p>\n<p>If running isn&#8217;t your thing, you can still support the team by donating <a href=\"https:\/\/citybay21.grassrootz.com\/flinders-foundation\/ryan-hodges-fund\/donate\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Take on the City-Bay this year and join the Flinders Foundation &#8211; Ryan Hodges Fund team to help raise funds for cancer treatment.
