{"id":16826,"date":"2021-09-07T13:23:36","date_gmt":"2021-09-07T03:53:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/fit\/?p=16826"},"modified":"2021-09-07T16:04:06","modified_gmt":"2021-09-07T06:34:06","slug":"take-part-in-our-reconciliation-journey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/fit\/2021\/09\/07\/take-part-in-our-reconciliation-journey\/","title":{"rendered":"Take part in our Reconciliation journey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Flinders University&#8217;s second annual Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Forum will take place next week, from Tuesday 14 September to Thursday 16 September.<\/p>\n<p>The RAP forum continues this year\u2019s Reconciliation Australia\u2019s theme,\u00a0<em>More than a word, Reconciliation takes Action<\/em>, offering the university community an opportunity to participate in cultural activities and workshops about reconciliation as a process and sharing the University\u2019s actions towards reconciliation through College and Portfolio workshops and guest presentations.<\/p>\n<p>A key Flinders University RAP deliverable has been added to the program. Reconciliation Australia will present their\u00a0<em>Nurragunnawali\u202fProgram <\/em>on Wednesday 15 September from 9:30am \u2013 10:30am. The presentation will explore the concept and context of Reconciliation in Australia, and the significant role of the (higher) education sector in driving a stronger future of Reconciliation across the nation.<\/p>\n<p>Elder on Campus, Larrakia Elder Uncle Richard Fejo, will also now be presenting in the College and Portfolio &#8211; Workshop 2 on Thursday 16 September 10:30am \u2013 11:30am. Uncle Richie will share how \u2018vicarious trauma\u2019 in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities impacts on everyday health and spiritual wellbeing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cReconciliation is a relational exchange, where people are at the center of commitment and action. The RAP forum demonstrates the University\u2019s steps towards Reconciliation.
