{"id":17569,"date":"2021-12-06T15:00:30","date_gmt":"2021-12-06T04:30:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/fit\/?p=17569"},"modified":"2021-12-06T15:00:30","modified_gmt":"2021-12-06T04:30:30","slug":"lifetime-achievement-award-for-esteemed-dance-career","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/fit\/2021\/12\/06\/lifetime-achievement-award-for-esteemed-dance-career\/","title":{"rendered":"Lifetime Achievement award for esteemed dance career"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Professor Garry Stewart, director of Flinders University\u2019s Assemblage Centre for Creative Arts, won the SA Premier\u2019s Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2021 Ruby Awards ceremony\u00a0on Thursday 2 December.<\/p>\n<p>As one of Australia&#8217;s most celebrated dancers and choreographers, Professor Stewart officially stepped down as Australian Dance Theatre\u2019s creative director \u2013 a position he held for 22 years \u2013 at last Saturday\u2019s gala performance of his work G.<\/p>\n<p>The awards ceremony, which was held at Queen\u2019s Theatre in Adelaide and livestreamed, recognises the best of South Australia&#8217;s arts and culture sector through the Ruby Awards (named in honour of esteemed Arts patron, Dame Ruby Litchfield).<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the prestigious Premier&#8217;s Lifetime Achievement awards &#8211;
