I create graphics, 2D animations, 3D modeling, 3D animations, photography and film, as well as video editing. I’m the all-rounder of creative content who aims to amplify and give visual leverage to media releases and gain more media coverage for our researchers.

Tell us about your journey to Flinders.

I have been in the E-learning industry for most of my career in South Africa, making learning easier and more accessible with visual aids. I worked for different companies, including LabXchange (an initiative by Harvard Online) to develop online science education through creating videos, animations, interactives and laboratory simulations.

I immigrated to Adelaide and entered into the industry of science communication, working with Animate Your Science to bring research to life with animation. After just over a year, I have made my way to Flinders University and can’t wait to dive into more research and help bring it to life.

What’s your favourite part about your job?

I meet amazing people at Flinders, get to know what they’re working on and learn all sorts of new and interesting things that have just been discovered, found or how parts of the body work. I then have the privilege to help tell that story visually through any of the different visual mediums that I work with.

What does a typical day look like for you?

I don’t really have a typical day, and that’s one of the things I love about what I do. The content is never the same, the tasks are never the same and each time I need to think about what what can make the research appear more exciting, bring it to life and give it the recognition it deserves.

What’s a fun fact about you?

I used to lead the administration team behind a small concert in Mozambique every year called STRAB, which featured blues, rock and other genres of music. I was basically surviving off 4 hours of sleep, music and scuba diving.

The Media and Communications team has expanded its 2D and 3D digital image capabilities with the recent introduction of Traci Klarenbeek, who brings a wealth of […]

[55563,59399,32135,57368,56621
59616,59614,59615
post-22394","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-around-campus","category-chief-of-staff","category-fearless","category-in-touch-with","category-media","tag-digital-media-advisor","tag-media-communications","tag-traci-klarenbeek
["GET
